Trainee Counsellor Placements

We provide trainee counselling placements, made possible by offering reduced fee online/remote sessions through Libra Counselling. The unpaid placement enables counselling students to gain a number of online/remote client hours that will count towards passing your course.  

 

As a trainee placement you are required to help clients access counselling and provide a non-judgmental safe space to explore issues that they are experiencing.
 The majority of our clients experience anxiety, depression, relationship breakdown, amongst other mild to moderate mental health difficulties. We will provide online/remote clients for you, on a regular, weekly basis.

 

We encourage counsellors to practise within their training approach and offer placements to trainees practising a range of therapeutic modalities.

 

Responsibilities include:

​

  • Speaking to clients weekly for a therapeutic hour that have been assessed to need therapy.

  • Completing paperwork for client’s sessions – Evaluations, session notes. 

  • Attending fortnightly group supervision.

  • Adhere to the Libra Counselling's confidentiality and information sharing policy at all times.

 

What you need:

​

  • Studying for your diploma in Counselling Level 4 or above. 

  • Or Studying for your Degree or Masters in Counselling, Counselling/Clinical Psychology, Psychotherapy or Art Therapy.

  • Access to your own computer/Laptop and or smart phone for the online sessions.

  • Access to your own Zoom/Facetime or other encrypted online platform account.
